Tips About Browsing the Internet from Brandywine, Maryland

BROWSING THE INTERNET

The term "browsing" basically means to go from one link to another, scanning pages and continuing on the internet without using a search function. Usually one has a purpose in mind. When you first came to BrandywineMD.com you may have browsed the site, which could have led you to links off of the site. Some people feel "lost" when they do this, but you always have your Back button and your History of previous pages you've seen, which you can access at the top of your browser window depending on which browser you're using.

If you're looking to browse on a particular subject or category of sites on the internet, you may want to start from a directory. The two main directories of internet site listings are:

Yahoo.com - a commercial directory which also hosts a lot more than just a directory (internet search, shopping, email lists, and much more).

Open Directory - a directory specializing only in listing internet sites, which are listed by volunteers who review them according to select criteria.

These lists of sites are extraordinarily lengthy, but they are searchable and well-organized. I will be providing a list of my favorite sites here that will be a much shorter list of things to see on the internet.
